For 18 years, the group Guerreiros do Passo has been carrying out the Frevo na Praça Project, located in the Hipódromo neighbourhood, in Recife. Every Saturday, at 3:30 pm, free dance classes and workshops are offered, open to the general public. Tourists and participants have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the culture of Frevo, learn about its history, roots, and classic movements. The team responsible for the project consists of four experienced teachers recognized for training dancers and Frevo passistas in the city. The project’s main objective is to strengthen Frevo as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Brazil and Humanity, preserving its artistic and cultural knowledge, as well as its history and tradition.
