Regenerative tourism, sustainable tourism, community tourism, rural tourism, accessible tourism… creative tourism has been shown, once again at FITUR, Tourism Fair in Madrid – , as the practical and holistic application of these virtuous models.
The success of the 2024 edition has exceeded the expectations of the Creative Tourism Network, from agreements with the highest state tourism representatives on the implementation of new projects, the promotion of its CreativeFriendly certified destinations, highlighting the active – and very creative – participation from Barcelos (Portugal), Quito (Ecuador), Recife (Brazil), Valparaíso (Chile) Philippines, among others.
As well as new destinations that will soon join the Network!
The Tunisian Culinary Route project, implemented by the CreativeTourismNetwork, commissioned by the GIZ and the Tunisian Ministry of Tourism, was also presented to the press.
An unprecedented collaboration was carried out with the Accessible Tourism Tur4All program, through the participation of the director of the Creative Tourism Network, Caroline Couret, as a member of the Accessible Tourism Awards Jury. A collaboration that makes a lot of sense, given the sensory nature of creative tourism.
Finally, the World Creative Tourism Awards – were officially delivered to initiatives and projects from around the world, with an official presentation at the Brazil stand, to celebrate the designation of Salvador de Bahia as the Best Creative Destination in the World!
Without a doubt, an edition of FITUR that consolidates the relevance of creative tourism as a lever for sustainable development!
