The City of Medellín (Colombia) celebrated the World Tourism Day organizing a conference focused on digital transformation and creative tourism.
International speakers shared their experiences with a wide audience composed of local stakeholders actively involved in the tourist industry.
The creative tourism was presented by the director of the Creative Tourism Network®, Caroline Couret, who strongly highlighted the city as a paradigm for this new generation of tourism.
She delivered the recognition CreativeFriendlyDestination to the Mrs. Paula Andrea Zapata Galeano, Subsecretary of Creation and Entrepreneurship growth.
This act officializes a strong partnership through which the CTN will internationally promote new creative experiences co-designed by the local communities and the City Council.
The city of Medellín in undoubtedly a model for this new kind of tourism, if we refer to its communities’ creativity and resilience and the smart involvement and management of the City Council to foster them.
